Schedule: M-F 8 Hour Days
About the Role:
WGNSTAR is seeking an experienced and dedicated Shop Operations Supervisor to lead our team in managing facility maintenance, logistics, and day-to-day operations.
The principal duties and responsibilities will be:
- Have a background in supervisory roles, with expertise in plumbing, HVAC, general repair, or mechanical capabilities (e.g., military aviation/automotive mechanic).
- Previous leadership experience is mandatory, and candidates with a facilities management background are highly encouraged to apply.
- The supervisor will play a crucial role in leading maintenance tasks, logistics management, and supervisory responsibilities for all facility personnel and maintenance operations.
- On-the-job training will be provided to familiarize new hire with the WGNSTAR standards and expectations.
Requirements:
- 5 years of management or supervisory experience.
- 2-3 years of experience as a technician (I.E. field service technician, mechanic, trades skill) in a similar field.
- Basic or Advanced Technical Certificate in a related field and 2 years of related experience.
- Associate degree in a technical field or certifications in maintenance (e.g., A&P, ASE…).
- Possess excellent technical skills in building and troubleshooting electromechanical and pneumatic devices and equipment.
- Ability to read and understand technical instructions, electrical schematics, blueprints, and P&ID’s.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities.
- Ensure peak efficiency of all building systems, equipment, and facilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 55 pounds.
- Comfortable working at heights.
- Forklift Operator certification/ Certification within 1 month of higher.
- Ability to travel 20% of the time if needed.
Qualifications:
- Operates with SAFETY FIRST mindset.
- Complete required WGNSTAR and customer-provided safety training within specified time.
- Adhere to company with OSHA safety requirements.
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with leadership, peers and customers.
- Email etiquette is maintained and upheld.
- Good understanding of MS Office products (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Good understanding of Smartsheet’s and Paylocity.
- Ability to learn and understand customer specific software.
