Position Overview: As a Billing Specialist, you will be crucial in managing our billing processes efficiently and accurately. This position requires a proactive individual who can work independently with minimal supervision. You will handle insurance verifications, manage claim denials, and ensure our accounts receivable (AR) and patient aging are up to date.
Location: Serving Scottsdale, Glendale, and Tempe
*(Must reside in the state of Arizona)
Requirements:Key Responsibilities:
- Perform insurance verifications for 100+ patients daily.
- Process and manage claims using Valant EMR and Waystar Clearinghouse.
- Address and resolve claim denials efficiently.
- Manage AR and patient aging reports to ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
- Handle a high volume of calls related to billing inquiries and issues.
- Utilize Excel to track, analyze, and report on billing data.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all billing transactions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant billing regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure accurate and timely billing.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in behavioral health billing.
- AAPC certification is required.
- Proficiency in Valant EMR and Waystar Clearinghouse.
- Strong background in computer skills, particularly in Excel.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle a high call volume and multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Reliable internet connection and a suitable remote work environment.
