Our client is hiring a Tax and Accounting Manager to join their growing team This is a direct-hire opportunity responsible for managing a team of accounting professionals, performing administrative and accounting duties to maintain accurate financial, tax, and billing records and reports.

This position can sit in Chicago, Illinois; Indianapolis, Indiana; or Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Responsibilities:

  • Review quarterly fixed asset updates prepared by staff accountants and prepare quarterly and annual state income tax estimates
  • Perform tax research based on current and proposed tax legislation
  • Complete applicable registrations for state income tax withholding and state unemployment insurance
  • Review annual state and city personal property tax returns prepared by staff accountant and complete returns when needed
  • Put together supporting schedules for federal and state tax returns which are prepared by a 3rd-party provider, including book-to-tax reconciliation and state apportionment schedule
  • Conduct annual partner tax survey re: state filing preferences

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent
  • At least 3+ years of experience in public accounting
  • Experience in partnership tax and non-residential state tax required
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Adept skills in Excel
