The Collections Specialist Opportunity:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Collections Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the collection of outstanding accounts receivable from previous and existing clients, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong sense of urgency, and a customer-focused approach to collections.
Responsibilities:
- Collections Management: Manage and maintain an assigned portfolio of accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances while minimizing aged debt.
- Communication: Contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to discuss payment terms, negotiate payment plans, and resolve any billing discrepancies.
- Documentation: Accurately document all collection activities, payment arrangements, and customer interactions in the company's collections management system.
- Problem-Solving: Work with customers to identify and resolve issues or disputes related to billing and payment, ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on collection activities, outstanding balances, and success rates to management.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree (preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in collections or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult conversations with customers professionally
- Knowledge of collection laws and regulations is a plus
