Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the data science team, including recruitment, development, performance management, and mentoring of team members.
  • Define and execute the strategic vision for data science initiatives, aligning projects with organizational objectives and business needs.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of complex machine learning models, algorithms, and analytical solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and translate them into data science projects.
  • Ensure the accuracy, scalability, and effectiveness of data science solutions, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Develop and communicate actionable insights and recommendations through reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor the performance of data science models and solutions, and implement improvements as necessary to enhance results and impact.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
  • Implement and enforce best practices for data management, governance, and model validation.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships related to data science initiatives effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field; Master's degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field, with at least 5-7 years in a senior management or leadership role.
  • Advanced proficiency in data science tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
  • Extensive experience with machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis, and data modeling.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing large-scale data science projects and teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive business value through data-driven solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience in presenting complex technical concepts to senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities, including experience in mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience with data management, data governance, and best practices for model validation and performance monitoring.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives and deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
