Position Summary:
The Auto Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on vehicles. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, particularly with Toyota, Ford, and Honda vehicles. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnostics and Repairs
    • Perform thorough vehicle inspections and accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
    • Conduct repairs and maintenance services on vehicles, including engine, transmission, brake, and AC systems.
    • Utilize diagnostic tools and software to aid in troubleshooting.
  2. Preventive Maintenance
    • Execute routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
    • Ensure vehicles meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  3. Documentation and Communication
    • Maintain accurate records of all services and repairs performed.
    • Communicate clearly with service advisors and customers about vehicle issues and repair timelines.
    • Provide detailed estimates for repair costs and timelines.
  4. Tool and Equipment Management
    • Keep personal and shop tools and equipment in good working condition.
    • Ensure the work area is clean and organized.
  5. Training and Certification
    • Stay updated with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
    • Attend training sessions as required to maintain and enhance technical skills.
    • Keep ASE, ABC, and manufacturer-specific certifications (Toyota, Ford, Honda) current.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive technician preferred.
    • Experience working specifically with Toyota, Ford, and Honda vehicles is highly desirable.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Completion of an accredited automotive technology program preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools and equipment.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching.
  • Manual dexterity and physical stamina.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to automotive fumes and noise.
  • Must adhere to safety procedures and guidelines at all times.
