WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Public Area Attendants are responsible for cleaning and servicing the lobby and all other public areas, including event space, in order to provide a pleasant and comfortable experience for guests. Public Area Attendants ensure all restrooms are clean and stocked throughout the day, and overall ensure the hotel's standard of cleanliness. They ensure that all public area spaces are inviting and clean and they address all guest queries politely and knowledgeably.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

  • Arrive at scheduled time with a positive attitude.

  • Come to work in a clean pressed uniform and name tag.

  • Be sure to get a radio for communication.

  • Clean public and employee restrooms.

  • Stock restrooms with toiletries and cleaning supplies.

  • Clean lobby and lounge area, windows and event rooms.

  • Sweep and mop throughout the hotel.

  • Vacuum all carpets as well as event rooms.

  • Check the balcony for trash and chairs.

  • Maintain the cleanliness of guest and employee elevators.

  • Empty trash around hotel property at least 3 times a day.

  • Empty ashtrays.

  • Washing and pressing food and beverage napkins daily.

  • Other duties as assigned by any supervisor or manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

No supervision required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

At least 1 years experience in housekeeping

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.

  • Ability to exert physical effort in using cleaning equipment.

  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.

  • Keep all public areas clean.

  • Must be visible in the lobby at all times.

  • Must have the ability to multi-task and perform well under stressful circumstances.

  • Friendly and helpful attitude.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Equipment to Be Used: Broom, dust pan, mop, squeegee, vacuum cleaner.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Able to stand

  • Able to squat

  • Able to push and pull

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25-30 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; stoop, kneel, bend, twist, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.

  • Able to comply with policies, procedures and codes of ethics

Work Environment:

  • Work generally performed in the lobby maintaining the cleanliness of restrooms and lounge areas.
