About This Role
The Director of Executive Communications is responsible for leading the communication strategy for the President of North America. The Director will be a strategic leader who develops a deep understanding of North America’s operations, culture, enterprise strategy and market dynamics, to inform compelling messaging for external and internal stakeholders.
This is a high-profile role within the North America organization that requires creativity, storytelling, corporate communication experience and business acumen. In addition to supporting the President’s communication to internal stakeholders, the Director will work closely with the North America leadership team to drive the preparation and delivery of informative financial communications—including talking points, presentations, content, and other materials—to help build confidence that the organization is executing on its strategy. This role reports to the Head of Corporate Affairs in North America.
What You’ll Do
- Own the communications that supports the North America President, which includes leading the creative concepting and delivery of compelling talking points, presentations, written materials and social content.
- Understand, synthesize and prepare the financial performance narrative for the President of North America. Write and create compelling, impactful and informative content to communicate the organization’s financial performance and growth prospects internally to employees and leadership, and externally to the investment community.
- Lead the social media strategy for the President of North America, including the messaging, content, approvals and engagement strategy to reach employees and external stakeholders.
- Drive an organized, systematic, and disciplined approach to executing on an executive communications strategy, including owning the processes and cadence for keeping materials up to date for weekly, monthly, and quarterly communications, earnings and events.
- Strengthen connections across the leadership team and organization, by leveraging your role at the intersection of stakeholders. Navigate complex and sensitive issues to protect and reinforce the organization’s reputation, guided by our values.
- Think broadly and develop deep understanding of our markets in real-time, including engagement external healthcare stakeholders to understand key themes, trends and insights that strengthen the messaging. Engage across the enterprise to understand employee perspective and sentiment.
Who You Are
You have a high-level of an interest in working with strong, purpose-driven senior executives, serving as a partner in advancing our enterprise strategy. Your exceptional listening skills and empathy are the foundation of your effective communication. You know how to balance delivering informative messages grounded in our business strategy with inspiring storytelling that moves audiences.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree required; advance degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in strategic communications, including supporting financial communications for senior executives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to turn complex business dynamics and market data into compelling stories
- Strong organizational skills and creative thinking with ability to see the big picture, while owning the delivery and details of a project from start to finish
- Experience producing a wide-range of content including speeches, videos, social content and presentations and managing contractors or agencies to support
- Executive-level presence and strong business acumen, with deep understanding of healthcare or biotechnology markets
- Strong partnering and consultative skills with ability to develop trusted relationships across the enterprise
- Interest in developing innovative communication approaches, including new emerging opportunities with AI technologies
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
