Position Overview: Under general supervision, this position is responsible for providing technical leadership for Audio Video and Lighting (AVL) equipment and resources to effectively execute weekend services and events at assigned Family Church campuses and assist employees within the Family Church network.

Reports to: Director of Production Services

Prerequisites

  • Ability to meet all minimum eligibility requirements to be a member of Family Church.
  • Affirm the Family Church Network statements of belief and practices as codified in our organizational bylaws and detailed in the Baptist Faith and Message confessional statement of 2000.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow.
  • Professional and positive demeanor.
  • Record of consistent, high-level performance.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Previous experience in AVL strongly preferred.
  • Excellent attendance habits

  • Proficient in ProPresenter, Allen & Heath, Vista, and other AVL systems.
  • Experience in leading paid and/or volunteer staff.

General Responsibilities

  • Ensure all values and objectives for worship services, events and other AVL needs are supported and executed.
  • Help recruit, develop and lead specialized technical volunteer staff.
  • Create and maintain complete volunteer files.
  • Help maintain detailed documentation including best practices for tech leads.
  • Manage personal and team workflow, including documenting assigned duties and tasks.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude in a stressful work environment.
  • Maintain cooperative spirit assisting others when needed or requested.
  • Communicate with leadership, peers, members, volunteers and prospects.
  • Work a flexible schedule, which includes after hours, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrate stewardship of church resources including supplies, equipment, and intellectual property.
  • Attend and/or lead regularly scheduled departmental and church-wide staff meetings.
  • Understand and adhere to procedural guidelines and policies.

Specific Responsibilities

1. Assist the Director of Production Services to develop campus AVL teams at the campuses assigned to you:

  • Develop Tech Leads as they spiritually guide their campus team.
  • Provide Tech Leads and volunteers necessary training and equipment.
  • Ensure weekly tech coverage.
  • Help build healthy relationships between Worship Leaders and Tech Leads.
  • Work with Worship Leaders to train, mentor, recruit, and lead AVL teams.

2. Assist the Director of Production Services in maintaining all AVL equipment at the campuses assigned to you:

  • Ensure all AVL equipment is operational.
  • Make any technical improvements as needed.
  • Identify any major upgrades, repairs, and improvements needed.

3. For Sunday morning worship services:

  • Assist your campus tech lead as needed.
  • Prioritize providing personnel coverage and/or technical assistance at the campuses assigned to you.

4. For additional events:

  • Ensure technical systems are prepared and working efficiently prior to the event.
  • Create schedule of production personnel.
  • Upload slides and videos.
  • Prepare and organize stage to be clean and prepared for the event.
  • Attend production planning meetings as needed.
