Description

Situated in Downtown’s Second Street District, Austin Proper Hotel & Residences is the newest luxury lifestyle hotel in Austin, just steps from Lady Bird Lake, the legendary Austin City Limits music venue and nearby boutiques. With inspiring interiors by Kelly Wearstler and culinary offerings in collaboration with MML Hospitality, Austin Proper offers 238 rooms and suites, a dedicated spa and fitness center, and 9,500 square feet of meeting and event spaces, including a rooftop pool deck offering small-batch tequilas and majestic lake views. Anything less just wouldn’t be Proper.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Event Sales Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving revenue through the sale of corporate events and weddings, focusing on single events without associated guest rooms. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs, coordinate event details, and ensure exceptional service delivery. This role requires a keen understanding of luxury hospitality and a proven track record in achieving and surpassing sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue by selling corporate events and weddings, focusing on single events without guest room components.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure repeat business and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their event requirements and provide tailored solutions.
  • Coordinate all aspects of event planning, from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up.
  • Ensure the highest level of service delivery, meeting and exceeding client expectations.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of events.
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets for catering and events.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, prospecting, and the leveraging of existing business relationships within the Austin market. This postion will feature an proactive focus to attain new business.
  • Answer and follow up on leads promptly and effectively to secure new business and maintain strong relationships.
  • Cultivate relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, and social event organizers to drive repeat business and referrals.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, ensuring all contracts and event details are accurate and communicated effectively to all relevant parties.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with clients to maximize profitability while meeting their needs.
  • Conduct site tours, host client entertainment events, and arrange in-office client visits to increase brand visibility and foster ongoing relationships with both new and existing client base.
  • Utilize Delphi to accurately manage client information, track sales activities, and generate reports.
  • Manage the sales and planning process while overseeing theBanquet Event Order generation, and on-site event coordination for short-term bookings, providing high standards of quality and service.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Working knowledge of Delphi and Infor HMS is Preferred
  • 3 years of hospitality experience with Sales, Banquets, and Catering in the luxury hospitality industry

Required Skills

  • Proven track record in event sales, preferably within the luxury hospitality industry.
  • Strong understanding of corporate event and wedding planning processes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in relevant sales and event management software.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with guests diplomatically
  • Actively participate as a team player to ensure unit cohesion.
  • To take initiative and act quickly to achieve goals in a professional manner.
