The Clinical Support Specialist will ensure that quality clinical supports are provided to the adult residential and day programs of MARCH, Inc. of Manchester by playing an integral part in the development, processing and implementation of the Positive Behavior Support Plans for all individuals served in accordance with the CT Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and MARCH, Inc. of Manchester policies and procedures. This individual must have a team-oriented attitude and demonstrate a positive attitude toward work and the agency’s mission and goals.

  • Receives supervision from Clinical Supervisor


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support Program Managers, ensuring that the quality and integrity of all treatment planning is person centered and designed to enhance the lives of individuals served as well as those direct care professionals who interact with them by improving socially significant behaviors that have immediate and long-lasting meaning.
  • Assist and support Program Managers to ensure that individuals served are provided with a therapeutic program designed to enhance socially acceptable skills that maintain and [or increase the individuals' level of independence in the areas of self-care, activities of daily living and community integration.
  • Meet monthly with Program Managers to review efficacy of all Positive Behavior Support Programs data, including functional assessments and individual clinical/behavior goals and objectives, to ensure that supports meet and overall effectiveness rating of 80% or better.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the IP process with each individual served regarding the Positive Behavior Support Plan and clinical goals and objectives. Ensure that appropriate treatment processes are being conducted.
  • Collate data on a quarterly basis in the form of a Behavior Summary Report to report the process of each individual served with regard to the Individual Planning Process.
  • Participate with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) in the Person-Centered Individual Planning meetings minimally even/ six months.
  • Participate, gather and collate Program Review Committee (PRC)/ Human Rights Committee (HRC) documentation submitting all packets to CT Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDS) timely.
  • Assist in ensuring the preservation of the rights of each individual served and his/her family by maintaining confidentially, employing the philosophy of the least restrictive procedures (using restrictive procedures only when specified by treatment needs) and following the ethical standards of the agency.
  • Participate in clinical aspects of new program implementation and development.
  • Throughout employment successfully meet and maintain the requirements of all certifications and training as established by regulatory bodies and the agency’s policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate competence and technical skills in positive behavior supports, applied behavior analysis and person-centered planning.
  • Preserve the rights of all individuals served and their families by maintaining confidentiality as delineated in DDS licensing regulations, MARCH, Inc. policies and procedures and in accordance with HIPAA.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in ABA Psychology, Special Education, Social Work (proof of licensure for LCSW, LMFT, and PC) required.
  • 2 years minimum experience required.
  • Experience working with individuals who are intellectually/developmentally disabled preferred.
