POSITION SUMMARY:

The Field Service Technician is responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of various construction equipment and machinery at customer locations. This role requires adherence to established procedures while fostering positive relationships with both customers and colleagues.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Up to 100% travel required.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform repairs and servicing of machinery to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and operate assigned service truck and company tools/equipment according to company standards.
  • Stay current with safety training, product knowledge, and service department objectives.
  • Complete assigned tasks with minimal rework and work independently.
  • Use company-owned tools and service equipment properly and safely.
  • Order necessary parts and materials to complete work assignments.
  • Adhere to all company safety requirements consistently.
  • Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate records, including time clocking and collection records.
  • Ensure work areas are left in a clean or better condition and follow contamination control procedures.
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, including physical and medical regulations.
  • Seek feedback and performance assessments, participate in training, and respond to additional duties as needed.


REQUIREMENTS:

Experience/Competencies/Proficiencies:

  • Trade school completion or equivalent education in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency with necessary equipment and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective communication with customers and co-workers, maintaining a positive and approachable demeanor.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and relevant safety regulations.
  • Ability to repair, troubleshoot, and service equipment in various environments.
  • Mechanical expertise in tools and equipment repair, with a strong understanding of hydraulics, electronics, and diesel engines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document work clearly.
  • Proven enthusiasm and energy in completing tasks.
  • Customer-focused with a strong orientation toward building relationships.
  • Flexibility to work branch hours and extended days as required.
  • Must have a personal set of tools for equipment repair.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to kneel, stoop, bend, climb, and crawl without restrictions.
  • Continuous use of wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Capability to work in various outdoor environments and terrains.
  • Must be able to safely drive a field service truck and meet DOT physical and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) requirements.
