Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Tucson, Arizona 85713

Working Shift: 6 am - 06:30 pm or 6 pm - 06:30 am (Days/Nights)

Pay Rate: $40 - 42/hr on W2

Contract Duration: 1 year with possible extension

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medication and perform treatments on an assigned unit as ordered by the physician and within the scope of the license.

  • Medications may be in a variety of forms including oral, enteral, parenteral, suppository, etc. Treatments may include sterile and aseptic wound cleaning and dressing, postural drainage and percussion, tracheostomy, gastrostomy and jejunostomy care, and catheter care.

  • Receive and deliver a variety of information regarding the residents’ medical, social, functional, and other needs.

  • Communicate with residents, family, and staff as necessary to ensure the resident receives appropriate care from the interdisciplinary team.

  • Complete the initial admission nursing assessment tool on a newly admitted resident.

  • Assist as needed with direct resident care for the completion of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, observations, treatment, and summary of resident progress.

  • Conduct and participate in in-service training and staff development programs for regularly employed staff and other duties as assigned.

  • May collect and analyze data for quality improvement and infection control programs.

  • Train new employees.

  • Performs other technical duties as assigned (e.g., collects specimens, responds to emergencies rapidly and appropriately)

Essential Requirements:

  • Current Arizona State LPN License

  • One or more years of Skilled Nursing Facility or Long-Term Care Experience preferred.

  • Gerontological/geriatric nursing experience is highly preferred

  • Currently possess or ability to obtain and /or retain an Arizona Department of Public Safety Class 1 Fingerprint Card

  • Current CPR card that was obtained by physical assessment
