Subrogation, Claims Consultant

The Claims Consultant role on our subrogation team fulfills the process of filing claims with adverse carriers and sending out subrogation demand packages. Occasionally working with settlement attorneys, restitution lawyers, and negotiating settlements.


What you’ll do:

  • Review and audit subrogation files determining if the file should be closed or sent to collection if there is denial/no recovery
  • Involved with the settlement of agreements
  • Work directly with multi-car and pro-rata cases
  • Call the identified adverse carriers to obtain claim information or file a claim if necessary. This information is updated to the file
  • Ensure that all documents needed to support the claim are attached to the subrogation file
  • Pull additional documents as necessary for a demand from our vendor or client site.
  • Send requests to other departments for missing documentation
  • Maintain detailed diary notes as to the status of the file each time it is worked
  • Collaboratively work with other departments to resolve customer quickly, efficiently, and empathetically and/or vendor issues.
  • Liaise and manage system follow-ups of all files for which negotiation techniques are required.
  • Negotiate disputed Diminished Value claims
  • Technical assistance and support to Claims Services Manager, and other LPRMS management team members.
  • Assistance in the training of Claims and other Client Services Staff.
  • Handle client complaints according to documented internal dispute resolution process.
  • Perform the Need Check Code (FNOL Review and rating) as required.
  • Ensure that all recovery checks received or allocated is electronically attached to the correct FastTrack file, and payment history updated in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Recommend ways to improve processes and operations
  • Collaboratively work with other departments to resolve customer quickly, efficiently, and empathetically and/or vendor issues.
  • Other duties as assigned


What we’re looking for:

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Subrogation experience highly preferred
  • At least 4-5 years of customer service experience
  • Experience in auto and/or fleet claims required
  • ARMS, ACLA, CRPS, and/or SCLA certification a plus
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills and Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to handle a heavy call volume
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills.
  • Well versed in negotiation skills to increase recovery per clients SLA’s.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
