Subrogation Associate Claims Consultant

The Associate Claims Consultant role on our subrogation team supports the Claims Consultant staff through the process of filing claims with adverse carriers and sending out subrogation demand packages. Associates Claims Consultants are the original point of contact for the filing of claims and ensuring proper documentation is provided.


What you’ll do:

  • Review subrogation files to confirm the facts of loss.  If facts of loss indicate an issue, escalate the matter to the Claims Consultant
  • Review police reports to confirm fault and update missing information to the subrogation file.
  • Call the identified adverse carriers to obtain claim information or file a claim if necessary. This information is updated to the file.
  • Ensure that all documents needed to support the claim are attached to the subrogation file.
  • Pull additional documents as necessary for a demand from our vendor or client site.
  • Once demands are sent, set proper follow ups/dairy, and contact carriers for status of the demands.
  • Handle incoming calls requesting additional documentation.
  • Send requests to other departments for missing documentation.
  • Identify calls that require immediate escalation.
  • Maintain detailed diary notes as to the status of the file each time it is worked.
  • Collaboratively work with other departments to resolve customer quickly, efficiently, and empathetically and/or vendor issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.


What we’re looking for:

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of customer service experience
  • Experience in auto and/or fleet claims a plus
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills and Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to handle a heavy call volume
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills.
  • Well versed in negotiation skills to keep loss of use down
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
