Job summary

The Executive Chef’s responsibilities include the management and execution of all Back of House activities: team member hiring and development, BoH sanitation and safety oversight, COGS and labor control responsibility, vendor management, and cross-department/cross-location communication. The Executive Chef drives all decision-making by balancing three key goals: keeping our team members safe and engaged; creating savored moments for our guests & team members and ensuring efficient and profitable restaurant operations.

What you do

● Lead and act in a manner that is consistent with our Mission, Vision, Values, and Growth Principles

● Hire, train, build and lead a high performing, diverse, engaged, & inclusive team

● Oversee food preparation and culinary activities that allow us to meet our financial objectives

● Consistently create food offerings that are unique, cost effective, and meet quality standards

● Participate in Leader of People functions, including but not limited to, growth & development of team members, talent planning, performance reviews, accountability oversight, and delegation of duties as applicable

● Oversee BoH operations including inventory management, FIFO rotations, workforce management, cleanliness & organization, and other administrative duties

● Collaborate with peers at other locations and with other departments to ensure consistency of menus, marketing efforts, special events, labor management, policies, and procedures

● Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors

● Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following preventative maintenance programs

● Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements

● Stay abreast of industry trends and insights

  • Coordinate with marketing to create assets and social media material

● Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Physical requirements

● Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10+ hours)

● Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds

Desired qualifications

● Minimum 3 years’ experience in a chef role with supervisory & P&L responsibilities

● Culinary degree preferred

● Prior exposure to a vast array of prepping and cooking techniques/ methods

● Familiarity with safe handling techniques prescribed by county health department

● Effectively lead and manage all Back of House team members and ensure they are being held accountable to Company standards

● Oversee all Back of House operations including food preparation, team member management, equipment troubleshooting

● Create savored moments for our guests by providing high quality dishes in a timely manner
