POSITION SUMMARY

 This position is responsible for conducting marketing activities including market research (i.e. market share and competitor information), product/service development opportunities, management of the hospital websites and Facebook pages, service utilization, demographic trends, as well as identifying customer needs and satisfaction.  This information then drives the creation of marketing initiatives. The Director of Marketing is responsible for hiring employees for their areas, performance evaluations, and disciplinary action including dismissal when appropriate.  They are responsible for establishing expectations for all of their staff and defining the expected outcomes, determining the support, skill set and competencies needed for the roles.  They are responsible for resource acquisition thereby assuring their staff has the materials and equipment to be successful in their jobs.  They are responsible for staff development and identifying the strengths of their staff and supporting them in being successful in their jobs.  They are responsible for coaching, mentoring staff and recognizing the excellence of their staff.  The Director is intrinsically driven, always looking for ways to expand their own knowledge base and is able to see the greater purpose for which their efforts are a part.  They must be able to demonstrate critical thinking skills in all aspects of their role including utilizing data to weigh alternatives and searching for solutions outside of the box.  They must have a talent for overcoming resistance to change, emotionally intelligent and able to build strong relationships with internal and external customers.

 EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, journalism or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in hospital related development and/or marketing is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the complete suite of Microsoft Office products including Exel, Word, Outlook.
  • Knowledge of graphic arts computer programs and brochure/advertisement development.
Shift: Monday-Friday, days. As a key member of the leadership team, this position will work onsite and participate in an on-call rotation.
