Purpose of Position

Based in the Portland office, this role is responsible for writing tests for SightLine proprietary software algorithms. The successful QA software engineer will play a key role in identifying and implementing automated tests. They will play a key role in increasing efficiency with our test-and-build infrastructure.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Conduct automated QA tests, writing and maintaining tests with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Manage an automated testing platform using Jenkins.
  • Work with QA and Software Engineering to define, design, build or modify the automation framework.
  • Active participant in implementing, executing, and managing software release process.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams of experienced software developers.
  • Set mutually beneficial goals that support business and personal development.
  • Support sales, support, RMA, production, and engineering groups, as needed.

Education and Experience Qualifications

The candidate should have experience and confidence in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or other relevant areas.
  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience working in quality assurance, software development, or a similar field.
  • Experience working in C/C++ and Python on embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices such as revision control and software testing.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.

Beneficial Experience (preferred, not required)

  • Experience managing network infrastructure, server, and virtual machines.
  • Experience working with CI/CD platforms (like Jenkins).
  • Working at a small company or in an agile environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

Benefits

Compensations range: $90-135k annually.

Compensation includes salary, 11 paid holidays, PTO (20 days earned over the first year), health insurance, dental, vision, life/disability, 401K match, incentive plan, schedule flexibility, parental leave, and education reimbursement.

SightLine Applications has two offices: Hood River and Portland, OR. The Hood River office includes sales, software engineering, and support teams. Our Portland office includes manufacturing, software, hardware engineering, and QA teams.
