Production Supervisor

Direct Reports: Production Leads, Production Assemblers
Location: Valencia, CA
Summary
As a Production Supervisor at Cicoil, a Trexon Company, this role will oversee our cable and wire harness assembly operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lean manufacturing principles, ERP system knowledge (preferably Epicor), and bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. This role requires excellent management and conflict resolution skills to lead a diverse team effectively. This includes ensuring efficient manufacturing processes, maintaining high standards of quality, and driving operational excellence as we expand our capabilities to meet increasing demand.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
Experience: Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in a production supervisory role, preferably in wire harness assembly or a related field.
Knowledge: The ideal candidate exhibits strong leadership skills to motivate and mentor a diverse team, possesses excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Demonstrates knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices, including ERP systems (Epicor), and showcases effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and team leaders and can make decisions that are driven by data.
Skills: Must be detail-oriented, responsive, accessible, self-motivated, autonomous, and able to work well with diverse internal team members and external points of contact. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Must demonstrate strong communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to present ideas and recommend appropriate courses of action. Must have demonstrated success in positions that require professionalism in supporting and working alongside a diverse group of established and new team members. Proven experience in effectively managing and resolving conflicts within a team. Must have demonstrated success managing teams and efficient production processes. Proficiency in both data analytics and manipulation. Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
This position requires use of information or access to hardware and documents which are subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be able to comply with the requirements of ITAR and other U.S. export control laws.

Specific Position Duties
Production
- Establish production floor priorities based off company needs (i.e. customer relations, margin, lead time, etc.)
- Assist Production Planner in developing the production schedule and ensuring adherence to said schedule.
- Read and analyze ERP data to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Plan and establish work schedules based off sales order backlog.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure availability of materials necessary for production.
- Evaluate production processes and recommend improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
- Prepare monthly production forecasts as required by management to support strategic decision-making.
- Interpret manufacturing outlines and identify improvements based off operator feedback.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering and Quality Departments to resolve production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor production metrics and KPIs to track performance and identify areas for enhancement to support business growth.
- Work closely with the Engineering Department to resolve process gaps.
- Active presence on the production floor; at minimum 50% of production shift.
- Report production schedule delinquencies to customer service along with recovery plan.
- Monitor shortages and prioritize as needed.
Team Management
- Lead and supervise daily production activities to ensure smooth operations and adherence to production schedules.
- Train, mentor, and develop production team members to enhance skills and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures or assign employee training to experienced workers.
- Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked via HRIS.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide on the spot feedback.
- Recommend or execute personnel actions, such as hirings, evaluations, or promotions.
- Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
- Deploys conflict resolution skills proactively on a consistent basis.
Quality
- Assist Quality Department to improve efficiency of quality inspections.
- Adhere to all quality clauses specified by customers.
- Conduct floor audits and identify areas that need improvement.
Safety
- Lead by example to uphold and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
- Respond to all incidences of work-related illnesses and injuries, directing employees to the most appropriate course of action.
- Ensure that all incident reports and claims documentation is completed.
- Work with HR to explore and discuss reasonable accommodations as needed.
- Investigate all known risks and incidences; recommend intervention and resolutions.
- Work with HR and Safety Officer to facilitate safety, hazard, ergonomics, risk prevention and policy-based trainings as needed. possible
Other responsibilities, initiatives and ad-hoc projects as required.
