Makwa Global is a Minnesota based company formed to offer government agencies a new approach to Tribal Enterprise capabilities. Makwa Global is a seasoned federal contractor which has a visionary approach and strategic attention to detail that our customers and employees can depend on.


We are seeking project-based instructional designers who are preferably in the Washington DC metro area and have experience supporting federal clients or international organizations in foreign assistance, foreign affairs, or international development. Some in-person engagements or travel required for training support and evaluation. Potential for limited OCONUS travel. Start date: September 30, 2024.


Summary of responsibilities

  • Consults, trains, and serves as a collaborative resource for the project team and SME in developing and integrating the use of educational technologies to augment, enhance, and evaluate instructional delivery methods.
  • Supports the project team in utilizing the instructional design process to define, develop, field test, and evaluate learning experiences and assets that are consistent with sound instructional design principles.
  • Ensures all learning resources are designed in a way that allows learners at all levels to digest and retain the material in an effective manner.
  • Collaborates with various partners to understand and support target audience's training strengths and needs, develop audience personas, set instructional outcomes, and collaborate on creating content that addresses those outcomes.
  • Ensures that the project team recognizes and reflects the specific cultural contexts, learning needs, preferences, and styles of a variety of learners.
  • Creates engaging learning activities and compelling content, including exercises and activities that enhance the learning process and supporting materials and media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, etc.).
  • In collaboration with the graphic designer, provides graphic design support to the project team by utilizing developed assets and materials that align with client requirements, branding, and standards.
  • Analyzes and applies trends and standard methodologies in learning technologies and instructional design.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience related to the job responsibilities listed below
  • Undergraduate degree in adult education, communication, training, HR, or related field - Advanced degree or certifications preferred
  • Work sample, portfolio, or other demonstration of your own learning design or development work
  • Ability to work and communicate in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment using modern technologies (e.g., file sharing, workflows, wikis, chat, video conferencing)
  • Attention to detail in work products with a commitment to quality and learner satisfaction
  • Fluency in written and spoken English - Additional language skills is advantageous
