Why It Matters
In our communities, only about 1 in 10 students earn a college degree, a statistic we find unjust and unacceptable. We are committed to changing this narrative, as evidenced by the fact that over 85% of KIPP middle school alumni go on to attend college.
As a Music Teacher, you will be an integral part of the KIPP Minnesota Instructional Team, directly leading music instruction for students. Your role will involve planning and delivering high-quality lessons that foster significant student achievement while contributing to a culture of excellence within the school. This is a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities- Implement school-wide student management policies in classrooms and throughout the campus.
- Design and deliver engaging, rigorous lessons in the area of Music.
- Contribute to the development of curriculum standards and mapping.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with parents and families.
- Create a classroom environment that is both nurturing and demanding.
- Maintain a clean and professional classroom atmosphere.
- Participate in morning, lunch, and afternoon duties as assigned and attend all staff meetings.
- Utilize data to inform instructional practices and enhance student achievement.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through feedback and collaboration with school leaders and faculty.
Required
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in the field of education.
- Valid MN teaching license in Music or Fine Arts.
- Experience with diverse instructional strategies and differentiated instruction.
- Strong classroom management abilities.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Highly Preferred
- Experience working in historically underserved educational communities.
Salary: $44,880+
