The Market Intelligence Manager will be responsible for supporting the organization as a thought leader around market data, analysis, and derive strategic insights to drive industry leading performance. By utilizing external and internal data and utilizing a strong acumen for critical thinking, the Market Intelligence Manager will be a central figure supporting strategic decisions with the leadership, sales, product line management and corporate functions teams. This role is based out of Missouri City, TX or and will require up to 20% travel.

Minimum Requirements:

    • Relevant work experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, preferably in Upstream.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, and statistical software.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear and actionable insights for diverse audiences.
    • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, anticipate market trends, and identify innovative solutions to business challenges.
    • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.

Desirable Requirements:

    • MBA or advanced technical degree(s) or certification in data science preferred.
    • Experience with commercial processes and pricing strategies that drive improved profitability.
    • Prior experience working in corporate strategy or marketing.
    • Experience in M&A support and due diligence activities.
    • Exposure and demonstrated experience using strategic deployment plans.

Responsibilities:

    • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities in the sector.
    • Monitors various data streams for industry trends, leads, and developing key insights from rig activity, production data, artificial lift conversion activity, customer spending, and competitive information.
    • Builds a complete picture of competitor’s strategies, technologies, and customers.
    • Calculate the market share for each product line and identify areas of share growth, in support of annual strategic growth initiatives.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather internal data and insights, integrating them with external market intelligence to develop holistic views of market opportunities and risks.
    • Prepare regular reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management, guiding strategic planning and resource allocation.
    • Provides expertise and overall market data leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
    • Stay abreast of industry news, competitor activities, and geopolitical events that may impact the market, providing timely updates and actionable intelligence to stakeholders.
    • Support business development efforts by identifying and evaluating potential partnerships, acquisitions, and investment opportunities through rigorous market analysis and due diligence.
    • Supports the development of the annual segment business plans and sales forecasts by utilizing data to drive expected levels of activity and identify high potential segments of growth.
    • Develops and supports voice of customer (VOC) activities to track the net promoter score (NPS) for product lines with Lufkin’s key customers.
    • Attends approved trade shows and events and gather key insights around competitive intelligence to drive refined marketing and product line strategies.
    • Supports annual strategic growth initiatives as a key contributor and initiative leader.
    • Continuously improve market intelligence processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our analysis and decision-making capabilities.
    • Other duties as assigned.
