About the Position:

Pathway Partners LLC is seeking a Physical Science Technician to support a potential customer, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).  Physical Science Technicians support laboratory operations and Chemists in federal accredited crime laboratories specializing in the forensic analysis of seized drugs.

 

Position Description:
The Physical Science Technician will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Conducts, monitors, coordinates, and controls various phases of testing or analysis operations, applying a wide range of technical principles, procedures, and requirements including complicated techniques.
  • Monitors the stockpiles of laboratory glassware and pre-soaks, cleans, and re-stocks analytical glassware for the laboratory. Prepares laboratory reagents and performs reliability testing. Prepares chemical solutions for use in quantitative analyses. Performs calibration checks on analytical balances using proper handling and weighing techniques.
  • Compiles, develops, and makes routine and non-routine interpretations of data compiled in the field or laboratory.
  • Determines the appropriate analytical techniques and evaluates the reliability of the results obtained.
  • Operates instrumentation and peripheral microcomputers. Identifies and corrects operational malfunctions. Adapts procedures when unexpected observations occur.
  • Assesses and overcomes unanticipated situations and conditions.
  • Ensures compliance with rules or regulatory requirements. Recommends improved procedures. Identifies and corrects deficiencies. Determines the adequacy of control procedures. Performs routine laboratory instrument maintenance and performance checks.

Minimum Experience Level:

  • Education: Successful completion of 2 years of study that included at least 12 semester hours in any combination of courses such as physical science, or any branch of mathematics, except financial and commercial mathematics.

Or

  • Combination of Education and Experience: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.

  • Knowledge of analytical instrumentation
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Performing work with highest levels of integrity
  • Previous experience in ISO-accredited analytical laboratory
  • Understanding and following policies and procedures

Security Clearance

  • Must be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance

Salary Range

  • $69K-$73K

Hours

  • 40 hours/week
  • Monday-Friday
  • Work Hours between 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
