We’re seeking a passionate Principal Architect who is experienced in leading software and system architecture work with an emphasis on scalability and efficiency. This person will oversee multiple architects and teams in modernizing a web-based DoD application to manage electromagnetic spectrum communication events.


Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and owns entire system information requirements in the development of enterprise-wide customer-facing full-stack applications managing the use of electromagnetic spectrum bandwidth across multiple DOD organizations.
  • Experienced in creating customer-facing system architectures with high degrees of reliability, observability, and scalability.
  • Creates specific technical design, product and vendor selection, application, and technical architectures.
  • Provides subject matter expertise on applicable technologies and platforms and leads the decision-making process to identify the best options.
  • Serves as the owner of complex technology implementations, with an eye toward constant reengineering and refactoring to ensure the simplest and most elegant system possible to accomplish the desired need.
  • Ensures strategic alignment of technical design and architecture to meet business growth and direction and stay on top of emerging technologies.
  • Oversees the development and management of product roadmaps, backlogs, and measurable success criteria, and writes user stories (i.e., can establish a path to delivery for breaking down stories).
  • Able to present ideas and communicate strategic vision to both technical and executive audiences. Manages solution architects as needed.
  • Can make tradeoff decisions to ensure timely completion of deliverables while driving long-term adherence to architectural standards.
  • Oversees and guides the work of Solution Architects to ensure alignment with architectural vision. Supports them as leaders of scrum teams.
  • Reduces Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for data-centric solutions; FinOps and Hyper-Automation advocate.
  • Develops solutions on Agile framework and utilizes DevSecOps hyper-automation methodology
  • Spearheads program innovations, continuous improvements, and engineering excellence.
  • Garners consensus and buy-in across technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders for strategic technical program decisions.
  • Hands-On Architect, the final-tier technical SME for the Program
  • Collaborates closely with program technical leadership
  • Leads and communicates the program's technical strategy through presentations and briefings
  • Ensures program execution of technical milestones
  • Leads and manages Solution Architects and teams, providing people management support through coaching/mentoring, 1:1 meetings, and fostering career growth.


Requirements:

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or other related scientific or technical discipline. With twelve years of general information technology experience and at least seven years of specialized experience, a degree is not required.
  • 12+ years experience in software engineering, including implementing engineering best practices, iterative/continuous engineering principles
  • Experience leading system architecture of complex customer-facing applications in the cloud.
  • Experienced collaborating with customers and stakeholders to present solutions to the user/stakeholder community and gain user adoption
  • Experienced designing cost-optimized cloud-scalable solutions
  • Experienced fixing architecture issues that impact scalability and performance for large systems with large datasets. Consulting capacity.
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira/Confluence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience working in an agile or SAFe environment.??
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; residing in the United States

Desired Qualifications:

  • Industry experience (Link-16 Spectrum) or direct experience with government agency Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
  • AWS Solution Architect Certifications


Working Environment:

eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by

Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 25% per year.
