Senior Director of Data Management


Overview

The Senior Director of Data Management will lead the strategic planning and execution of data management policies, practices, and technologies to support SILAC's business goals. This role is responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of our data management framework, ensuring data quality, security, and accessibility across the organization.


Job Details

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data management strategy that aligns with organizational objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to integrate data management practices into business processes.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data management and incorporate them into the organization's strategy.

Data Governance:

  • Establish and maintain robust data governance frameworks to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.
  • Ensure implementation of data architecture frameworks to implement effective database solutions and models to store company data.
  • Develop policies and procedures for data handling, classification, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of data through robust data quality and data security programs.

Technology Management:

  • Oversee the selection and implementation of data management tools and platforms.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Software Engineering, and Security leaders to enhance data architecture and infrastructure.
  • Define and implement data integration processes, including data sourcing, transformation, and loading (ETL).

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data management professionals.
  • Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation effectively.
  • Foster a growth and collaboration with the data team and IT teams to ensure success.

Data Quality Control:

  • Implement systems to monitor and maintain the quality of data throughout the organization.
  • Resolve data-related issues and drive continuous improvement in data handling practices.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Communicate data strategies and insights to stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for all data management-related activities within the company.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in information management, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a data management role, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing data strategies in a large organization.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of data governance, data quality, and data protection laws and practices.
  • Experience with modern data management tools and platforms.

Desired

  • Certifications such as CIPM, CDMP, or similar.
  • Experience in change management and business transformation.
