POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Informatics/Analyst develops and helps to maintain the Electronic Medical Record Systems (to include TruBridge, ECW, and Azalea), software applications and databases for Cohesive Healthcare Management & Consulting and its associated Hospitals and clinics. Develops an understanding of the application functionality, reporting capabilities, interfacing and integration associated with clinical applications assigned.

This is a remote position with travel required.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Demonstrates initiative, ability to work with others, and professional judgement.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

· Minimum of three (3) years experience in healthcare setting.

· Two (2) or more years of previous experience in electronic medical record systems, software systems or related field within healthcare.


LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

· Associate’s degree preferred but not required

· IT experience preferred but not required


LANGUAGE SKILLS

· English is the primary language

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.

· Ability to interpret reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals.

· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, physicians, clients, customers, employees, and the public.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

· Ability to compute ratio, percent, rate, as well as the ability to create and interpret graphs.


REASONING ABILITY

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, and/or diagram form.

· Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in statistical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Job Functions

· Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

· Assist with implementing applications, tools, and processes that assist clinicians with the management of data in patient care and the provision of health care.

· Travel to any Cohesive Management facility/site for support of EHR systems

· Maintains changes to referential data, across clinical applications assigned.

· Assist with application implementation and system customization including the development of alerts/hard stops, data integration, order generation, automation of document entry and enforcement of adherence to workflows with the guidance of the Senior Clinical Informaticist.

· Provide technical support, diagnosis of application errors and troubleshooting with system/IT issues related to the EHR.

· Interpret, modify, analyze, and design clinical systems, data, and information.

· Assist with designing and implementing educational and clinical services programs, support end-user training.

· Facilitate clinical content team – work with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care professionals to evaluate current EMR functionality and develop future applications by building consensus and using efficient decision-making processes.

· Recommends innovative ideas, processes, and/or procedures for enhancements, additions, and modifications to improve existing systems.

· Assist with the configuration and setup of new users within the clinical systems as they relate to the EHR.

· Serves as a resource person for daily operational issues within the electronic health record.

· Work with other members of the team to implement solutions to system related problems to minimize operational impact.

· Assist with the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Meaningful Use within the facility.

· Assist with monitoring and reporting quality data as related to the EHR and clinical software applications.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Attends meetings, as appropriate.

· Effectively and consistently communicates to supervisor and administrative leaders as appropriate.

· Seeks out external resources through conferences, workshops, etc. as necessary.

· Shares professional knowledge with hospital staff, board members, and administrator.

· Complies with HIPAA regulatory requirements.

· Adheres to the companies/facilities philosophy, mission, and policies and procedures.

· Supports the facility goals and objectives.

· Maintains a good attendance record and follows all hospital rules, policies and procedures.

· Maintains open and effective communications with patients and their nurses, physicians, peers, supervisors, and students. Establishes and maintains excellent interdepartmental and interpersonal relationships.

· Attends departmental meetings and in-services to stay current with the developments of the department and hospital.
