Williams Consulting, LLC (WCLLC) is in search of a Public Health Advisor who has experience in federal government contracting. This position is based at our Catonsville, Maryland office and offers a hybrid work environment. The standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. This position is contingent upon award.

Description

Williams Consulting, LLC is seeking a dynamic Public Health Advisor to provide strategic guidance and expertise in support of a federal agency’s efforts in eliminating health disparities, promoting health equity, and enhancing quality of care through a deep understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, and Marketplace policies. This position will focus on strengthening population health strategies, addressing social determinants of health, improving rural health outcomes, and leveraging data to inform policy and programmatic decisions.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on health plans serving individuals with coverage through Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, and Marketplace, analyzing their impact on health equity, access to care, and health outcomes for diverse populations.
  • Provide strategic advice and recommendations on initiatives aimed at promoting health equity and reducing disparities in healthcare access and outcomes.
  • Utilize data analytics and evidence-based practices to assess the effectiveness of policies in achieving health equity goals
  • Foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to advance health equity initiatives and share best practices
  • Contribute to the development of policies, guidelines, and regulations that promote health equity, address social determinants of health, and improve healthcare delivery systems
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of policies and interventions on health equity outcomes
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend evidence-based solutions
  • Represent at meetings, conferences, to advance health equity and address social determinants of health
  • Ability to critically analyze healthcare policies for its impact on multiple populations
  • Other duties as assigned


 Requirements and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Health Administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in health equity, policy analysis, or related field, preferably within a federal agency
  • Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP and Marketplace health plans, health equity principles, social determinants of health, and disparities in healthcare access and outcomes
  • Knowledge of public health policies, practices, and systems
  • In-depth understanding of federal statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including experience in preparing technical reports, policy briefs and presentations.
  • Must be highly detail oriented with the ability to pivot to meet emerging needs
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Project) and Adobe
  • Must demonstrate professionalism and a positive work ethic in all situations
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing events and competing priorities
  • Background investigation required

Working Conditions and Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. Standing, sitting, squatting, and other normal office-related physical activities are required. Must be able to sit and read computer screens for extended periods.
