Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented senior accountant to join our growing organization. This position will handle the day-to-day accounting functions for our general contracting business and report to the corporate controller.

It is a hands-on position, working closely with the site president and project managers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Review contract setup, including billings and budgeted costs, to ensure planned margins are within guidance.
  • Review sales orders and contracts to ensure any required deposits are notated and collected.
  • Actively monitor and review all projects to ensure proper billing and expenses are captured and tracked.
  • Review all invoices before the accounts payable team processes at the corporate office.
  • Assist the sales team with collections as well as conduct bi-monthly meetings to discuss past due invoices.
  • Ensure project closeouts are done on a timely basis.
  • Provide and discuss monthly project margin reports with the president.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries as needed.
  • Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger monthly.
  • Provide requested information for bank and financial audits to the corporate accounting team.
  • Assist with managing inventory levels and performing inventory counts to ensure accurate levels are reported within the financial system.
  • Review financial statements for variances and provide analysis.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Special projects and other ad hoc duties as assigned.
  • Assure general contraction licenses are in place and current.​​​​​​

Education / Training:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
