We are responsive to the diverse needs of those we serve and staff, and are committed to ensuring that everyone feels respected, valued, and a sense of belonging.

About the Program and Position:

The Family Peer Advocate will assist families in accessing support, connecting with providers, and addressing concrete and/or subjective barriers that prevent participation in services. This staff member will also work to assist families in increasing their skills in self-advocacy and empower families to make informed decisions. Connecting families to community connections and natural support networks is an integral job function within this role.

  • Respond in a positive and respectful manner to diversity, among the agency's service population
  • Responsible for maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of Protected Health Information of service recipients in any form (e.g., computer access, conversations, documentation) during and surviving the termination, expiration or cancellation of employment/association with Cayuga Centers
  • Responsible for complying with rules and regulations governing access to Protected Health Information under HIPPA. Access to Protected Health Information is limited to the extent required to perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently. No access will be permitted unnecessarily. These essential job functions dictate the level of access, use, and disclosure of confidential information.
  • Perform other duties as requested by program supervisors and agency leadership.
