Job Title: Loan Officer

Job Overview: The Loan Officer will be responsible for evaluating, authorizing, and recommending approval of loan applications for individuals and businesses. This role involves assessing financial information, managing loan processes, and ensuring compliance with lending regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a customer-focused approach, and experience in the lending or financial services industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate loan applications by reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documentation.
  • Assess borrowers' creditworthiness and ability to repay loans based on financial data and risk factors.
  • Authorize and recommend approval or denial of loan applications within lending authority.
  • Explain loan terms, conditions, and repayment plans to applicants, ensuring they understand their obligations.
  • Maintain and manage loan files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, real estate agents, and other financial professionals to generate new loan business.
  • Monitor loan portfolios, identify potential risks, and take proactive steps to mitigate them.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, lending regulations, and market conditions that may impact lending practices.
  • Assist in resolving customer inquiries and issues related to loans and lending services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Loan Officer, Mortgage Loan Officer, or in a related role within the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of lending principles, credit analysis, and loan processing.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risk and make sound judgments.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Proficiency in financial software and loan management systems.
  • Familiarity with lending regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • State-specific licensing (e.g., NMLS) may be required.
