Our client, a leader in providing risk management services to the energy industry, is looking for a mostly virtual Part-time Full-Charge Bookkeeper to join their team.

If you're a leader who's excited to run/manage the entire accounting function, and spearhead accounting processes and communications with clients and insured, who's interested in working on average 20-25 hours per week, then this job opportunity may be the right fit for you. Please note: while hours are flexible, you are expected to work every day during Monday-Friday normal business hours, for at least a few hours a day, in order to respond to time sensitive requests.

This small, family-oriented company opened its doors in 1986 and is located in the Sandy Springs area of Atlanta. You will be expected to be on-site at the client's Sandy Springs office once per month.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Own the accounting function “soup to nuts”, including:

  • Handling Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Reconciling insurer statements with the books
  • Working with insurers and the team to address accounting/billing questions
  • Sending out invoices to clients and tracking receivables and payables in a professional and timely manner
  • Filing and paying surplus lines taxes
  • Generating quarterly/installment invoices and payables
  • Generating invoices/credits for mid-term endorsements
  • Providing monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting (accrual and cash)
  • Handling direct bill commissions
  • Handling premium allocations
  • Doing expense reporting

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a full-charge bookkeeper or staff accountant
  • Strong QuickBooks and Excel skills
  • Previous experience in the insurance or risk management industry a plus but not required
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and enjoys finding ways to take things off of others’ plates
  • Team player who is enjoyable to work with and who is supportive of the team, as well as clients and insurers
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Able to respond to time sensitive tasks

Compensation: $38-40 per hour, based on experience
