Manager of Family Readiness Specialty Programs
AUSA's Family Readiness department
The Association of the United States Army (AUSA) is seeking a talented Manager of Family Readiness Specialist Programs, in support the Family Readiness department, to manage and maintain the quality of the Family Readiness specialty programs. Position reports directly to the Director of Family Readiness within the AUSA Leadership and Education Directorate (the Directorate is led by a retired 3-star Army General).
Ideal candidate will have at least 15 years or more of Army Family Programs and Resources experience as well as a demonstrated ability to network in the Army community. In addition, possess in-depth knowledge of both the operational and institutional sides of the U.S. Army. Knowledge of Army culture a must.
AUSA has a 37.5-hour work week with shortened workday on Friday (8am-1:30pm) and hybrid remote work schedule (3 days in office and 2 days remote). AUSA is an organization with a great mission where you can make a difference. Learn everything we do at www.ausa.org.
Responsibilities include:
Manages Family Readiness focus special programs, activities, and initiatives to include:
- Create, evolve, and execute specialty family programs and products to include
- Quality of Life Programs for Soldiers, Families, and Dependents.
- Lead for Family Fellows Program, special projects and professional development.
- Manages Family Readiness Publications and writes monthly AUSA Extra Articles pertaining to military families.
- Assist with onsite and offsite Family Forums and Events to include the AUSA Annual Meeting.
- Other Family Readiness projects and duties as assigned.
Position requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- In-depth knowledge of both the operational and institutional sides of the U.S. Army.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills, personable, and ability to network effectively.
- Ability to strategize, innovate, and develop effective programs.
- Ability to handle military family issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
