Midwest Refrigerated Services is a full-service 3PL company providing refrigerated logistics services for the food industry. Based in Milwaukee, WI, we operate the largest fresh 48 state LTL consolidation pool with more than 100+ trucks, and offer multiple sites with cooler, and air-conditioned storage, distribution, and cross-docking services. We operate refrigerated and non-refrigerated warehouses for storage needs but also Value-Added Services such as specialty packing, kitting and fulfillment needs. General Position Overview:

The Dedicated Account Manager is tasked with deepening our engagement and expanding our presence within our existing client base in the freight and logistics sector. This role is perfectly suited for a strategic and proactive thinker who is eager to advance their career in customer service, sales, and logistics. The Dedicated Account Manager will be instrumental in driving business growth through our freight, brokerage, and logistics services. By fostering strong, positive relationships with our clients, this individual will gain a comprehensive understanding of our clients' businesses and their specific needs. This insight will enable the Dedicated Account Manager to identify and implement strategies to enhance and expand our range of service offerings, ensuring that we not only meet but exceed our clients' expectations.

General Accountabilities include:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer(s), ensuring daily communication is maintained to manage expectations and order details.
  • Take charge of soliciting, creating, and tracking customer orders, ensuring each step of the service process is communicated effectively and executed efficiently to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Driving additional business by leverage a deep understanding of the customer’s business to identify opportunities for upselling and expanding service offerings.
  • Act as a dedicated account manager by anticipating customer needs and tailoring solutions that support their success, fostering a deeper business relationship.
  • Work closely with the Routing and Operations Teams to ensure seamless service delivery, tailoring solutions to meet client needs and coordinating effectively to resolve any issues that arise.

Skills Required:

  • Ownership of self-success.
  • Ability to upsell on services and products for customers.
  • Ability to anticipate a customer’s needs.
  • Strong internal and external communication skills.
  • Good technical / systems skills.
  • Ability to listen to the customer, empathize, apologize, and take action (HEAT).
  • Adaptable to changing business and client needs.

Prerequisites:

  • 2-4 years of experience in freight management, brokerage, transportation, or 3rd party logistics services.
  • 3-5 years of customer service, sales, and/or logistics experience.
  • Experience with McLeod preferred.
  • Proven track record of maintaining positive customer relations.
  • Ability to type, and utilize Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn on the fly and solve problems.
  • High energy / positive thinking.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
