GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Vice President of Human Resources leads talent strategy for the business and is a core team member of the senior management team. The right candidate will be able to effectively translate talent strategy into critical HR initiatives to help scale the business. Key initiatives include optimization of newly implemented HRIS to scale processes across the workforce, enhancing performance management practices, implementing a robust talent management program, scaling up the talent acquisition function for robust clinical recruitment plans, etc.

In addition to ownership over the HR function, this leader will help shepherd employees through growth and change. The Vice President of Human Resources will help lead diligence and integration efforts to scale the organization through M&A, promote initiatives to enhance company culture and drive employee engagement/retention programs.

This role will oversee a team of 4 HR professionals and must be able to help guide programs around payroll, benefits, employee relations, culture, recruitment, and training.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum, advanced degree preferred)
  • MBA/MS in Human Resources Management or related field, preferred, but not required
  • 10+ years’ experience in Human Resources department
  • 3+ years’ experience as Head of HR
  • SPHR/PHR, or SHRM-SCP/CP Certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of talent acquisition, talent management, payroll & benefits administration, employee relations and other HR functions
  • Experience with ADP or similar HR database.
  • Basic computer and internet skills (e.g. Microsoft Office).
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (when necessary to attend meetings, conferences, seminars, etc.)


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implements human resources strategies by establishing HR strategy and team accountabilities, including talent acquisition, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, HR operations, HRIS, employee safety and health initiatives, succession planning, employee relations and retention, compliance, and reporting.
  • Manages human resources operations by recruiting, selecting, onboarding, developing, and reviewing employee performance.
  • Develops human resources’ operational financial strategies, in partnership with the CFO, by forecasting and anticipating needs, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans.
  • Leads special projects as needed; drive results through a consultative approach of identifying and clarifying issues and priorities with the management team. Be able to project/program manage projects across the organization, keeping a close eye on change management efforts to increase adoption of programs.
  • Acts as key member of the management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions; analyzing information and applications.
  • Guides management and employee actions by researching and developing policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines on a regular basis. Communicating and reinforce organizational mission, vision, and core values.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Oversees performance and talent management programs including annual review cycle and compensation planning.
  • Leverages HR system for streamlining process and creating organizational efficiencies. Access HR data to provide reporting on a regular basis to management team and Board, review data trends, derive insights and take action to mitigate talent risks.
