Job Summary:

Windward Animal Hospital is a leading veterinary facility committed to providing exceptional care to our furry scaled or feathered companions. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate LICENSED or EXPERIENCED Veterinary Technician to join our team.

As a Veterinary Technician at Windward Animal Hospital, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinarian(s) and ensuring the well-being of our animal patients.

Please note that our clinic specializes in exotic species as well as rabbits. On our low cost spay & neuter day the candidate has to be able to adapt, manage time and be able to handle a fast-paced environment. We all hustle on low-cost day.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians in examinations, procedures, and surgeries, ensuring a safe and stress-free environment for our animal patients.
  • Perform routine tasks such as obtaining patient histories, taking vital signs, and administering medications under the direction of veterinarians.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and fecal samples, for diagnostic testing.
  • Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures and assist in post-operative care, including wound management and medication administration.
  • Provide compassionate care and handling of animals, ensuring their comfort and emotional well-being throughout their stay at the hospital.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and document all treatments, procedures, and observations in a timely manner.
  • Educate pet owners on topics such as medication administration, post-operative care, and general wellness.
  • Assist with inventory management, ensuring adequate supplies and medications are available for daily operations.
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to maintain a clean and organized work environment, including cleaning and sterilizing equipment.
