Commercial Lines Account Manager

We are looking for a Commercial Insurance Account Manager to join Coverdash's Commercial Risk Unit. As an Account Manager, you'll be responsible for managing and building small and mid-commercial accounts, providing rate and quote for new business leads, scaling a team of in-house insurance producers, managing customer insurance needs with support from in-house customer success associates, and becoming a small mid-commercial insurance expert.
Our ideal candidate should be able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment as we are in a rapid build-out phase and are deploying new software to production daily. You'll be working closely with our technical teams, operating as an insurance subject matter expert, and helping review processes and systems to build technology that efficiently and effectively meets the needs of the P&C commercial insurance industry in today's digitized world. You should have the ability to work autonomously, create new products, and meet the insurance needs of insureds.
This is a Virtual First Workplace role with an office location in NYC. It can be based anywhere in the U.S. as long as you can work our Coverdash core collaboration hours (9:00 am-5:00 pm Eastern Time).
You'll be responsible for P&C commercial insurance sales and service, independently managing client relationships and accounts up to $20MM in volume revenue. You will develop, analyze, and implement competitive insurance programs, providing various alternatives for client consideration, prepare, market, and quote rates for renewals and new business, and act as a primary client point of contact to provide day-to-day service by responding to client questions and requests. You'll also be responsible for growing a profitable book of business with strategic placement of business, insurance customer success, account management, or sales, supporting new business by following up on leads promptly and supporting producers with quoting, binding, and issuing policies, compiling and organizing all client information necessary to process new, renewal, cancellation, and endorsements, performing database file management and input information, accurately managing and maintaining documents in agency management systems, and building relationships with commercial underwriters.
Qualifications for this role include 3+ years of P&C commercial sales or brokerage experience, active P&C license in good standing, excellent communication skills- written, public speaking, and presentation preparation, excellent telephone etiquette, customer service skills, professionalism, and tact, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and its more complex features, ability to be resourceful, take initiative, solve problems, and offer solutions, ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment and be responsive to co-workers and colleagues, ability to train, delegate, provide oversight, and give feedback, excellent time management skills, ability to learn adapt and train the use of technology systems and software applications, intermediate project planning and management skills, bachelor's degree or related field or equivalent work experience, experience working with CRM/AMS and comparative rating platforms, and prior insurtech or startup work experience is a plus.
The pay range for this role is $85,000 to $120,00 per year, including on-target commission/variable pay. Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry and are one part of our total compensation package that also includes benefits and other perks. We also include stock options in all compensation packages and believe all Coverdash employees should be able to become company owners. Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skill set, location, and business need. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified.
