The MAS athletic program seeks to provide increased opportunities for student engagement and to build social, emotional, academic and athletic supports to assist our scholars towards graduation and post-secondary success. The MAS athletic teams will be highly competitive and display sportsmanship at all times.

Job Overview:
The Milwaukee Academy of Science is seeking a responsible, organized person who is interested in coordinating and overseeing the growing athletic department. The athletic director is responsible for the fiscal and programmatic aspects of the MAS athletic department. This position also coordinates the use of the facility resources for after school and non-school day use.

Responsibilities:
Athletic Director -

- Coordinates high school athletic programs at MAS.
- Supervises and evaluates high school coaches and the Associate Director.
- Oversees athletic discipline procedures per WIAA regulations.
- Schedules all high school athletic contests, issues contracts for the contest, and maintains the proper and necessary records.
- Ensures officials are scheduled and contracts are issued for all high school contests.
- Maintains an active file of officials under contract and pays officials following the contact.

- Arranges transportation for all away high school contests.
- Supervises the preparation and verifies all athletic eligibility lists.
- Supervises high school athletic contests and acts as the host to officials and visiting schools.
- Oversees the supervision of contest employees and volunteers who work the athletic contest.
- Arranges for personnel to supervise contests as needed.
- Supervises and is responsible for preparation of home contests.
- Coordinates athletic banquet.
- Coordinates pre-season parent meetings.
- Oversees fundraising activities in-partnership with the development office and head coaches.
- Manages the athletic booster club in-partnership with the development office.
- Oversees marketing of athletic programs in-partnership with the development office.

After School Hours Program Coordinator
- Oversee operations of after school programs (ie. Boys and Girls Clubs)
- Maintain security of building and ensure supervision of students after school.
- Coordinate Gym usage and contracts after school on weekdays and weekends to ensure the space is clean, organized, and operational for athletics and special guests.

- Coordinate and provide operations oversight of after school and weekend events.
This includes set up and clean up, hiring security, concessions, and facility oversight.

- Assist with the dismissal of students at the end of the school day.
- Serve on school emergency team.
- Other duties as assigned by administration.

Other Requirements:
- Attend WIAA New Athletic Director Workshop (Stevens Point, WI)
- Monthly meeting with Chief Executive Officer
