JOB SUMMARY

The Healthy Families Family Engagement Coordinator (HFFEC) is responsible for community outreach and recruitment to engage new families. This position is also responsible for parent engagement activities for families after enrollment into the program, and may carry a small caseload during times when program capacity is full.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Community Outreach
    • Develop and maintain a list of community partners as potential referral sources and provide regular communication with partners regarding program openings to enroll new families.
    • Market the program to potential new referral sources, making in person visits to community partners, giving program presentations, and implementing creative methods to recruit and retain families.
    • Attend community meetings and participate in community events to promote the program and connect with families who might enroll.
  • Parent Engagement Coordination
    • Develop a Parent Advisory Council for the local area and recruit families to participate utilizing a diversity, equity, and inclusion approach.
    • Lead the planning and be present at quarterly (or more often) Family Time events.
    • Lead support groups and/or play group opportunities for program participants.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in working with or providing services to children and families
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries when providing supportive services
  • Able to work flexible schedule which could include some evening/weekend hours

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or fields related to working with children and families
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Infant Mental Health Endorsement
