A well-run rebuilding project requires a lot of planning and skill behind the scenes to ensure that clients (and volunteers on [Re] Build Days) have a positive experience. As the AmeriCorps Program Coordinator, you will support [Re] Build Days projects from start to finish, beginning with the initial visit to assess a client’s home repair needs, through the completion of the work scope and final project evaluation. You will also support client intake, ensuring a high level of communication and support for clients throughout the application and repair process and project documentation and tracking. You will help coordinate with clients, skilled volunteers, community partners, vendors, inspectors, and staff. You will support our technicians in the filed with year-round repairs, learning tools of the trade. And you will follow up with clients after each project is complete to ensure that the health or safety concerns of the clients were addressed according to the work scope and complete any punch list items. As an integral member of our team, you will be involved in all aspects of our organization to help us deliver high-quality services. You will spend about half your time in the office and half your time in the field.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Help coordinate communication between clients, staff, Site Captains, and contractors to ensure all parties agree on work scope, timeline/timing of project elements, and expectations.
- Help ensure all necessary client paperwork is complete.
- Help collect client feedback through post repair surveys.
- Participate in home assessments and help develop work scopes and materials lists.
- Arrange purchase and delivery of supplies and materials, including tools, personal protective equipment, dumpsters and other rented items.
- Manage and track warehouse inventory to provide for bulk purchasing, the reuse or repurposing of tools/materials, and an efficient supply chain. Ensure routine maintenance of Rebuilding Together-owned tools.
- Support warehouse organizing days.
- Assist with set up and tear down of [Re] Build Day projects and related logistics.
- Help manage volunteer check-ins, ensure volunteers have appropriate tools and supplies for project start, that safety procedures are followed and that volunteers enjoy and feel appreciated for their service.
- Support hands-on repairs, including but not limited to rough/trim carpentry, tile work, grab bar installation, wheelchair ramp/safe entry/egress repairs, interior/exterior painting, and weatherization.
- Assist with Site Captain trainings.
- Upon completion of the project, distribute and follow up on client surveys to measure project impact and client satisfaction.
- Occasional office support (e.g. filing, program-related paperwork, etc.)
Requirements
Required
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and use of internet
- Ability to compose professional written communications
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where each team member must balance being organized and detail-orientated with being flexible and keeping up with changing scopes of project work
- Ability to communicate in clear and encouraging language with a diverse community and staff—in writing, in person, and over the phone.
- Solid interpersonal skills and ability to make connections and build relationships with volunteers
- Ability to work with diverse clients, volunteers, and staff to create a friendly, helpful atmosphere
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant life/work experience
- Experience with database, and inventory systems or willingness to learn
- Ability to present to groups--experience training or teaching adults/volunteers
- Volunteer service experience; managing or coordinating other volunteers
Benefits
Living allowance over all 11-month terms of service:
- Full-time 40hrs/wk (1700hr term) - $23,500/term
- Part-time 20hrs/wk (900hr term) - $12,441/term
- Quarter-time 12hrs/wk (450hr term) - $6,221/term
Additional Monthly High Cost of Living Stipend:
- First Year Member – $100/month to cover high, local living expenses
- Second Year+ Member - $50/month to cover high, local living expenses
Additional one-time payment for second year+ members of any AmeriCorps program:
- Full-time 40hrs/wk (1700hr term) - $600
- Part-time 20hrs/wk (900hr term) - $350
- Quarter-time 12hrs/wk (450hr term) - $125
Travel to one optional in-person Rebuilding Together event with other AmeriCorps members (Details TBD).
Health insurance including dental and vision plans (only available to full-time 1700hr members).
Professional development benefit up to $800/member provided by RT National.
Mental Health benefit provided by RT National (covers 6 visits with a mental health professional OR 6 months of an online/tele-service subscription).
Education Award for qualifying education expenses or loans, upon completion of the term of service:
- Full-time 40hrs/wk (1700hr term) – $7,395
- Part-time 20hrs/wk (900hr term) – $3,697.50
- Quarter-time 12hrs/wk (450hr term) – $1,956.35
Federal student loan forbearance and interest accrual payment.
Positions are eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.
AmeriCorps childcare benefit.
