Summary
As an integral Compliance team member, the Compliance Specialist will assume a central role in upholding pharmacy security and regulatory compliance at the highest level. This multifaceted position encompasses working with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with pharmacy state and federal regulations. They will also assist with vetting new provider and clinic onboarding process, reconcile submitted state prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP) errors, maintenance of pharmacy employee and facility licensure, and help with auditing and reviewing daily pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with diverse departments and possess great presentation, knowledge of the pharmacy regulatory landscape, and excellent communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the licensing process for new pharmacy locations or expansion of existing locations, ensuring compliance with regulations in new jurisdictions.
  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure all new clinics being onboarded meet compliance standards.
  • Review and vet new clinic applications and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of onboarding procedures for new clinics, ensuring compliance with pharmacy standards.
  • Assist with the application process for new pharmacy state licensure.
  • Monitor the status of pending applications and address any issues or requests for additional information.
  • Monitor and reconcile state-specific Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) errors reported.
  • Investigate and correct data entry errors or discrepancies identified in PDMP reports.
  • Communicate with state PDMP administrators to resolve any outstanding issues.
  • Uphold high standards in work and regularly review processes.
  • Gain familiarity with procedures and products across various departments.
  • Undertake additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB).
  • Registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Committed to ongoing Pharmacy Continuing Education.
  • Proficient in computer usage, including basic pharmacy calculations.
Experience:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting.
  • At least 2 years of experience in customer service and compounding pharmacy setting.
Computer Skills:
  • Proficient with internet, email, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • Familiar with the pharmacy's current computer systems and responsible for ongoing training.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently.
  • Capability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
  • Must have close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Job Type:
  • Full-time, Remote (8AM-5PM CST).
