Overview of the Position:

Pharmacy Liaison will be responsible for the support of medication storage and handling, vaccine storage and handling, samples, emergency medication boxes, drug assistance programs, medication recalls, and any other clinic pharmacy service provided by the company. The incumbent will solicit input from team members and work collaboratively with all clinic stakeholders to ensure that sites have the support needed to assess problems, develop winning solutions, and provide quality care to patients.

Education and Experience:

• SC Certified Pharmacy Technician required

• 5+ years of retail or other pharmacy experience preferred

• Basic pharmacology knowledge required

Required Skills / Abilities:

• Must have a professional demeanor, appearance and be highly organized with strong attention to detail

• Must be a self-starter requiring little supervision

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Possess excellent customer service skills

• Possess the ability to perform effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously is essential

• Very strong leadership and problem solving skills

• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment

• Must be able and willing to work flexible hours, including, evenings, and occasional weekends if needed

• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers, physicians, and other healthcare providers from a variety of backgrounds and lifestyles while maintaining a non-judgmental attitude

• Prior to performing job related activities in this position one must understand company and program policies and procedures as well as be aware of HopeHealth’s mission, vision and values

• Ability to keep good records

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite specifically Excel, Word, Access and Power Point.

• Knowledge of data bases i.e. EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system. Experience with DDL’s (digital data loggers) and software, eCW (eClinical Works), SIMON, Envi, and AccuVax a plus.

Essential Job Functions:

Responsibilities:

• Assists daily customer service for samples and drug assistance medications

• Supports utilization of floor stock, vaccine and sample formularies by maintain PAR levels, placing and processing orders and requisitions

• Supports procurement department to ensure that clinics obtain approved medications and vaccines

• Monitors soon to expire floor stock and vaccine inventory and redistributes to sites to utilize

• Assists addition of floor stock and vaccine inventory into electronic medical record accurately

• Completes all annual training as required

• Troubleshoots and contacts support services for temperature controlled storage units when needed

• Assists new clinical employees with establishing access to AccuVax units on site

• Coordinates pharmaceutical manufacturer lunches

• Assists with returns of expired/wasted vaccines, floor stock and samples to manufacturer, wholesaler, or reverse distributor

• Maintains required documentation for med closet storage units including but not limited to daily temperature logs and calibration certificates

• Maintains proper storage and handling of medications, vaccines and samples in med closet

• Supports and assists with transportation of vaccines and or floor stock to outlying HH sites as outlined in policies and procedures

• Supports Pharmacy Patient Benefits Counselors with receiving, storing and verifying drug assistance medications

• Supports SC Board of Pharmacy regulations for permitting including but not limited to: refrigeration, medication storage and handling, crash boxes, resuscitation boxes, eye tray kits, floor stock and medication record keeping

• Communicates regularly with team through email, text, verbal, and written form

• Attends meetings as requested to support communication, planning and implementation of HopeHealth service directives

Other Duties / Responsibilities:

• Participates in problem-solving and troubleshooting activities involving staff and other intradepartmental and interdepartmental staff

• Participates in quality assurance activities of the department

• Responsible for maintaining and performing the highest achievable level of technical competence and work performance

• Participates in training opportunities to enhance knowledge such as conferences and continuing education/in-service events when approved

• Develops the service culture to ensure that all customers will have the same high value experience

• Visits clinical suites and HH (HopeHealth) practices to interact with provider and other clinical staff to determine if any pharmacy concerns or compliments to share

Physical Requirements:

Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone. Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone. Vision: Visual acuity

adequately to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. Other: Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 10

pounds unassisted in normal daily activities and up to 30 lbs. for other required work activities. Additionally, requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements

(especially if keyboarding and writing), standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
