Job DescriptionJob DescriptionProduction WorkerFULL-TIME

Starting Pay: $18-19/hr.

Performs job duties in the converting department and other duties as related to the economy of the operation, quality and quantity of product, cleanliness of the area, and work performed in a safe manner.

Principle accountabilities:

  1. Pass written and hands on practical tests required on equipment and products.
  2. Knowledge and practice of all safety procedures in the area.
  3. Operation of required material handling devices and proper handling of materials
  4. Collect data and complete record keeping requirements.
  5. Knowledge of production specifications and quality requirements.
  6. Change-over, start-up, monitor, and adjust operating condition to maintain quality, production and safety standards on the production equipment.
  7. Produce product at an acceptable rate and required quality.
  8. Use measuring and weighing tools and devices.
  9. Perform routine maintenance, including but not limited to cleaning equipment, lubricating equipment, making adjustments and fixing minor mechanical problems.
  10. Complete the required training and perform the duties of Hazardous Waste Handler to include transfer of hazardous waste containers to accumulation area and ensure hazardous waste containers are properly labeled and sealed.
  11. Related tasks as requested by supervisor

Schedule

Shift start: 11:00PM
Shift length: 8 hours, 30 minute lunch, and two 15 minute breaks.
Monday-Friday, some Saturday work

Qualifications

  • Must pass drug screen
  • Must be at least 18+ years old
  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience with basic math, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work with others as a team member.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance record.
  • Ability to understand and work with metric measures and volumes.
  • Previous machine operating related experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift 60lbs., climb stairs, walk, and stand a significant part of the shift.
  • Ability to work in high humidity and high temperature environments.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work any shift required, including overtime within the provisions of the union contract.
  • Must complete all required annual training to satisfy our safety rules and the EPA and OSHA regulations.
  • Participate on problem solving teams as required

Forklift experience a plus.
