Job Overview

Position: Production Worker - FULL-TIME

Starting Pay: $18-19/hr.

The Production Worker is responsible for executing tasks within the converting department, ensuring the efficiency of operations, maintaining product quality, and upholding cleanliness standards while adhering to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Complete both written and practical assessments related to equipment and products.
  2. Implement and follow all safety guidelines relevant to the work area.
  3. Operate necessary material handling equipment and manage materials appropriately.
  4. Gather data and fulfill record-keeping obligations.
  5. Understand production specifications and quality standards.
  6. Manage changeovers, start-ups, and monitor operating conditions to sustain quality, production, and safety benchmarks.
  7. Produce items at an acceptable rate while meeting quality requirements.
  8. Utilize measuring and weighing instruments effectively.
  9. Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and addressing minor mechanical issues.
  10. Complete training to fulfill the role of Hazardous Waste Handler, ensuring proper labeling and sealing of hazardous waste containers.
  11. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Work Schedule

Shift Start: 11:00 PM
Shift Length: 8 hours, including a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks.
Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a drug screening.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience with basic math and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Maintain a satisfactory attendance record.
  • Proficient in understanding metric measurements and volumes.
  • Previous experience in machine operation is preferred.
  • Capable of lifting up to 60 lbs., climbing stairs, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in environments with high humidity and temperature.
  • Willingness to work any required shift, including overtime as per union contract provisions.
  • Complete all necessary annual training to comply with safety regulations and EPA and OSHA standards.
  • Participate in problem-solving teams as needed.

Forklift experience is advantageous.
