Summary

Our Savior Lutheran Academy, located in Nashville, TN provides exceptional private Christian education for ages 12 weeks-5 years. We provide a loving and vibrant environment where Christ is at the center of all we do. Our classes offer a strong educational foundation, highly rooted in an interactive learning experience along with great enrichment activities such as music class, weekly chapel, library, on campus field trips and more Our Savior is licensed with the Tennessee Department of Human Services. We are searching for the next member of our administrative team to help us continue to serve our students and their families.

Duties

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain staffing schedule (complete one week in advance)
  • Contact and arrange for substitutes for open positions
  • Fill-in as substitute as needed
  • Assist with lunch/bathroom breaks
  • Acts as Director when Director and/or Assistant Director are not present
  • Learns and follows all DHS rules and regulations and ensure that rules are being followed in classrooms (Corrects/train staff as needed)
  • Address staff issues with the guidance of the Director/Assistant Director
  • Complete tours with all interested families
  • Collect all required documents for students and staff, and ensure that files meet DHS requirements
  • Track and communicate needed professional development hours for all staff
  • Observe in classrooms at least 1 hour per day. (Should not be limited to lunch breaks and/or substituting)
  • Attends monthly staff meetings (Participates when needed)
  • Completes required professional development training hours in a timely manner
  • Participates in planning and attends special school programs and events (including outreach opportunities)
  • Work with Admin Team to find ways to boost staff morale
  • Help maintain order in attic, resource closet, cuddle corner, library
  • Answer phones, return phone calls as needed

Expectations:
  • Interactions with Academy families, regarding OSLA matters, will be done through Brightwheel, OSLA email, or phone calls. (Preference to BW and email)
  • While families are attending OSLA, staff will not “follow” or allow “following” on social media.
  • Will take initiative to help in classrooms as needed.
  • Will help with day-to-day tasks such as (but not limited to) getting/putting away supplies, straightening common areas, and general up-keep of the building.
  • Work with the Admin Team to coordinate and supervise daily activities.


Requirements

DHS Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years old
  • 2 years of experience in a childcare center
  • Complete required training hours
