POSITION SUMMARY
The Early Childhood Education Assistant plays a vital role in fostering a nurturing and enriching environment for young learners. This position is essential in providing a comprehensive, developmentally suitable educational experience that not only benefits the children but also supports their families. The Assistant Teacher is responsible for creating a structured yet flexible learning atmosphere that promotes success in both academic and life skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adheres to all relevant Child Care Licensing regulations and ethical standards set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
- Creates and sustains a safe, healthy, and independent learning space for children.
- Utilizes positive behavior management strategies to encourage self-discipline among students.
- Communicates effectively with the director regarding any issues or needs related to children, parents, and classroom dynamics.
- Engages in ongoing professional development, completing at least 18 hours annually as required by licensing standards.
- Contributes to team collaboration by attending staff meetings and participating in organizational activities.
- Fulfills the responsibilities of the Lead Teacher in their absence.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualifications are essential for this role:
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree in Education or Child Development, or currently enrolled in such a program, or possess Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials.
- A minimum of two years of experience in early childhood education.
- Experience working with young children and their families, particularly in underserved communities.
These qualifications represent the minimum educational and experiential standards for this position. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered equivalent.

SCHEDULE
- 4-day work week, 6:45 am - 5:45 pm.
