Job Summary

The 15th Ave N Learning Academy seeks a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a cohesive teaching program, coordinating curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement educational programs that align with developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Leadership and Coaching: Lead by example, model best practices, and provide coaching to teaching team members to ensure a high level of instructional quality.
  • Classroom Management: Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain regular communication with parents through progress reports, parent-teacher conferences, and informal discussions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all center policies and state regulations are met, maintaining a safe and healthy classroom environment.
  • Supervision and Support: Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers, ensuring they follow planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
  • Professional Development: Develop and maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, basic computer skills, and the ability to work well with others.
  • Child Development Knowledge: A strong understanding of child development principles and practices.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools, or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels, and perform other physical tasks as required.
  • Visual Requirements: Specific vision abilities, including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Leadership and Organizational Skills: Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
