Summary:


The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users within the organization. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing user accounts, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems. The IT Support Specialist will interact with employees at all levels and may assist with training and the implementation of new systems or updates.

Key Responsibilities:

- Technical Support:

- Respond to requests for technical assistance via phone, email, or in-person.

- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.

- Provide support for various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.

- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, software, and peripherals.

- User Management:

- Create, modify, and manage user accounts in Active Directory and other systems.

- Set up and maintain user email accounts and access permissions.

- Provide training and guidance to users on IT best practices and usage of software applications.

- System Maintenance:

- Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.

- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system backups, patch management, and updates.

- Assist in the deployment of new hardware and software solutions.

- Documentation:

- Maintain accurate records of IT support requests and resolutions.

- Develop and update technical documentation, including user guides and FAQs.

- Track and report on IT support metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

- Security:

- Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures.

- Assist with the management of antivirus software and firewalls.

- Respond to security incidents and support disaster recovery efforts.

- Project Support:

- Collaborate with the IT team on various projects, including system upgrades, network installations, and software deployments.

- Provide input and support for IT infrastructure improvements.

Qualifications:

- Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.

- Experience:

- Proven experience in a technical support or IT helpdesk role.

- Familiarity with various operating systems, networking protocols, and hardware components.

- Skills:

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

- Customer-service oriented with a focus on end-user satisfaction.

- Certifications:

- CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Client, or other relevant certifications (preferred).
