About the role


WRA Architects submits a response to Request For Qualifications (RFQ) or a Statement Of Qualifications (SOQ) to prospective clients, most of whom are public sector agencies—school districts, city and county governments, Indian nations, and private schools. The Proposal Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of proposal responses to the prospective client with accurate information, high quality design, attractive appearance, and on time. Responsible for collaborating with matrixed, cross-functional teams to develop content/proposals, the Proposal Manager ensures that proposals are compliant with requirements, complete, and compelling. The ideal candidate would have experience with creation of content both written and graphic design, print shop coordination, deadline-driven delivery and shipping, data collection and documentation, and architectural knowledge.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


-Strong written English language skill

  • Ability to create new content from technical information supplied by the architects
  • Ability to edit content in various ways to suit each RFQ's target audience
  • Ability to write and edit content independently with no errors
  • Skilled at capturing approved content, organizing it, and warehousing it for quick retrieval repetitively

-Strong graphic design skills

  • Ability to visualize imagery needed; ability to create it, and solicit graphic designers' assistance and feedback
  • Ability to gather and organize a large quantity of graphic designed visual elements for quick retrieval repetitively

-Expert in Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, MS Excel, MS Word; able to learn and navigate other databases the firm uses


-Strong time management skills

  • Ability to work effectively against inflexible deadlines with zero errors
  • Ability to help subordinates manage their time with enough flexibility to minimize stress and enhance quality
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and follow through to ensure completion of a submission document that is accurate, high quality, attractive, and on time

-Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with superiors, subordinates, and people in other departments
  • Ability to gather input and content from a variety of stakeholders, prioritize, and craft a final output accordingly

-Able to use templates, adapt them to diverse audiences, apply Company branding elements, and maintain consistent visual appearance in the documents


Qualifications:


  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a related area of study preferred
  • Experience producing either RFQs, proposals, company brochures, company qualifications presentations, or similar
  • Experience planning, scheduling, and managing self and others to produce graphic deliverables accurately and on time
  • Experience writing, creating, and editing content for audiences either public sector, education, institutional, or corporate
  • Experience in an architectural firm, working with public sector clients, either school districts, universities, and/or municipalities


Reports

Proposal Manager will report to the Director of Business Development.


Continuing Education/ Expertise/ Leadership

Participate in seminars, conventions & organizations relevant to Marketing (SMPS, AMA, TSPRA, TASA/ TASB conventions, AIA seminars) in order to stay up-to-date on the latest best practices and techniques.
