The Assistant Fitness Manager (AFM) ensures Personal Trainers (PTs) provide a friendly, educational, and pleasant experience for all personal training clientele. AFMs are accountable for coordinating with the Fitness Manager to reach gym personal training monthly revenue goals.

Motivation


  • Provide inspiration and encouragement to the Personal Training team, as well as clients.
  • Assist clients in obtaining their health and fitness goals.
  • Motivate and teach clients how to improve their endurance, strength, flexibility and overall body composition.
  • Provide positive reinforcement for optimal results.
Revenue Generation


  • Drive Personal Training revenue through flawless execution and meeting established goals.
  • Manage call- backs, schedule appointments, retain current clientele, community outreach, promotional marketing
  • Successfully coaching Personal Trainers in developing a client base to achieve monthly sales goals.
Customer Service


  • Ensure client satisfaction with exceptional results and superior, customized personal training based on individualized goals.
  • Meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Deliver comprehensive health & fitness programs for clients in a fun, enthusiastic, educational, and supportive manner.
Requirements
A High School Diploma or equivalent; GED is required.
Preferred: Some college or a bachelors degree
Must pass a criminal background check.
One current nationally recognized Certified Personal Training certification; National Certification (ACTION, ACE, AFAA, ACSM, Cooper Institute, IFPA, ISSA, NASM, NCCPT, NCSF, NESTA, NETA, NFPT, NSCA, PTA Global or WITS)
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
Preferred: Prior management experience in a service/sales industry leading 5-15 employees
2-5 years personal training or assistant fitness management experience
Leadership skills
Coaching/Motivation ability; positive attitude and collaborative team player mindset
In-depth knowledge of program design
General knowledge and passion for health in the Fitness Industry
Demonstrated success in a service-oriented sale environment.
Ability to work with computers, proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, Internet, software programs, & email
Interpersonal communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Strong organizational skills; independent, self-starter qualities
Completed company sales training and orientation programs.
An ability to recruit, interview and train new hires.
An ability to calculate, monitor and facilitate departmental payroll.
An ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
A personable, enthusiastic, optimistic, and outgoing personality
A high level of professionalism, integrity, and strong work ethic
