Make an impact with a purpose-driven industry leader. Join us today and experience Life at Visa.

Job Description

As a Director in the Value-Added Services – Issuing Solutions Production Engineering organization, you will enjoy the opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment where your expertise and leadership are valued as you help to modernize the future of the Issuer Processing Platform.

To prepare Visa for the future and to better serve our clients, it is crucial that we possess the necessary skills, structure and processes that will allow us to create, develop and deliver top-tier products and solutions. You will be challenged with overseeing a team of high-performing engineers tasked with ideating, designing, developing, testing and implementing products, services and applications that continue to differentiate our processing capabilities from our competitors.

This position is ideal for an experienced software engineering leader who is passionate about solving challenging problems and building secure, resilient, efficient and reliable solutions.  A leader in this role will be extensively involved in driving hands-on software engineering activities including proof-of-concept, design, documentation, development, testing and implementation of new functionality as well as refactoring existing solutions.

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrate and guide your team to model and exemplify Visa’s core values, maintaining a delivery-focused approach
  • Actively manage resources in alignment with organizational needs and priorities maintaining focus on security, reliability, scalability and resilience
  • Collaborate with project team members (Product Owners, Architects, Analysts, Engineers, Project Managers, etc.) to ensure design, development and implementation of solutions
  • Drive the development and implementation of secure, high quality, on-time solutions that conform to the vision of the future state of processing and integrate across the technical ecosystem
  • Present technical solutions, capabilities and features to address identified requirements, problems and challenges
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer amongst peers and partners regarding solution architecture, design, implementation and delivery
  • Recognize, emphasize and promote the growth and refinement of the Visa Leadership Principles throughout your team of direct reports
  • Cultivate, support and promote an organizational culture that provides for high performance, high morale, integrity and teamwork

The Skills You Bring:

  • Energy and Experience: A growth mindset that is curious and passionate about technologies and enjoys challenging projects on a global scale
  • Challenge the Status Quo: Comfort in pushing the boundaries, ‘hacking’ beyond traditional solutions
  • Language Expertise: Expertise in one or more general development languages (e.g., Java, C#, C++)
  • Builder: Experience building and deploying modern services and applications with quality, security, resiliency and scalability in focus
  • Learner: Constant drive to learn new technologies
  • Partner: Experience collaborating with Product, Test, DevOps, SRE, Scrum/Agile teams, Internal and External partners

**We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance, we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didn’t work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
